Dennis DeHaven Fussell Jr.

Dennis DeHaven Fussell Jr. is one of the founders of University Granite & Spas. Dennis passed away on February 10, 2024, at the age of 46, leaving a lasting impact on the Auburn, AL community and those who knew him.
Dennis made his mark in the home building and construction industry, and his passion for creating beautiful spaces was evident in every project he undertook.
All who have the privilege of knowing or meeting Dennis are blessed by his wit, his warmth, his kindness, his immense love he has for his family and friends, and his unshakeable faith in God.
Dennis's greatest joy in life is spending quality time with his son, James. He also has an incredible relationship with his former wife Leslie and her husband Patrick. As a co-parenting trio they transcend differences to make the best life possible for James. Leslie and Patrick's son, Rory, is also loved by Dennis as if he was his own, which is a testament to what a great man Dennis is.
Dennis is known for his generosity and willingness to help others, whether they are friends or strangers. Dennis will give the shirt off his back for anyone who needs help.
Dennis has also showed this with his work with Habitat for Humanity and Samaritans Purse, reflecting his dedication to giving back to the community he cherished.
Dennis' legacy includes his beloved son, James, his former wife, Leslie, his mother, Gwendolyn, and her husband, Miles, his father, Dennis Sr., and wife, Suzette. He is also survived by his sister, Gerri, who he adores, and long-time friend and mentor, John who he calls Poppy John.  He has two step sisters Dana and Julie as well as a step brother Ashley.
Dennis, your legacy is and will live on forever, we love you so much, and we can’t wait to be reunited in heaven!
